I think we could stand to do a bit less thinking of the children.
How dare you oppose it, you must be a pedo and a criminal.
This guy politics
I cast Projection!
To be my antiauthoritarianism and antisurvlence is motivated by wanting to protect futurw children. No police state has reduced more harm than it causes.
This makes me want kms
Never KYS for something that’s somebody else’s fault.
First rule of KYS
If criminals can’t hide anymore they’ll eventually stop hiding and that will bring much worse problems.
The same goes for heavy prison sentences. The harder they are, the more dangerous people become if they’re already going to jail anyways.
Americans are thoroughly brainwashed that if they film criminals, they will get justice for their crimes. It’s working “so well” countercountersurveillance tactics are being employed.
I surmised they will never get authoritarian brainwashing undone.
You know this works because prisons are the safest crime free places on earth. Total control and surveillance makes everyone safe and solves all crime!
So basically, all governments want more surveillance, almost no citizens want surveillance
How do we fix this? How can we ensure that, as citizens of any country, we can stop out government from slowly turning ball societies into surveillance states?
Late reply, but I believe a LOT of people want surveillance. In my city the facial recognition thing is one of the main campaign talking points of the current mayor…
Nobody wants surveillance
Everybody’s told that surveillance is good. It’s not, of course, but keep telling people that green is blue and they’ll start believing you
Yet masses of people are voluntarily paying good money to have corporate spy cameras and listening devices installed in their homes.
Devices that can (and have) leak personal information to both criminals (in the traditional sense) and government agencies.
That mostly has to do with people not understanding the implications of technology. It’s not that they want to be spies on, they’re just very ignorant and government laws against this spying has been lax at best and helping with the spying at worst
