New glitches have been happening to me that I can’t explain on those.

First, Wire sometimes won’t send messages.

Then I move to SimpleX, and at night it just gives up on sending and receiving messages.

Now, I try to download something on Aurora Store and this happens!

Things that run outside Google Play Services will have a really, really bad time running, period. Wire and Simplex love just giving up with message syncing in my experience too.

Interesting Aurora Store bug, I’d say check your permissions, check your available storage, and try reinstalling it if this persists.

Tried just reconnecting the servers both on my and friend’s end, seemed to work. But then we both need WhatsApp to know “Is your end delayed?”.

Interesting Aurora Store bug, I’d say check your permissions, check your available storage, and try reinstalling it if this persists.

Tried it all, still won’t work.

Do these apps not have delivery/read receipts? At least that would send a specific confirmation instead of forcing you to confirm elements. (Signal is also my go-to if phone numbers and centralization, and even anonymous “you have a message” pings over the much more reliable Google Play Services are acceptable. Delta Chat also has delivery and read receipts.)

As for the app, probably a Google thing. I tried it too, I failed too, but thankfully if it’s just one app you can probably find it on a moderately reputable APK mirroring site.

Yes, but my problem was that they wouls be unaccurate (message appears as sent when it wasn’t).

If a message appears as delivered to you, that means it got all the way to their device, and then sent a receipt back to you. At that point, it’s all but guaranteed the recipient will get a notification, because their app is already awake and doing network stuff at that point.
