I would like to ask any Firefox forks that is ideal for Android phones (Preferably Hardened ones if that’s an option). Please don’t recommend Chromium based browsers.

Would really appreciate it :)

Iron fox?

Yes, if anyone happens to find Mull instead, it is not updated anymore. Ironfox is sort of replacing it.

Is it trustworthy yet though? Ironfox is very new

Yeah, it’s licensed under the GNU Affero License and therefore you can review the source code and modify it as you see fit. Classic FOSS.

Giving their code a brief once over, their scripts and patches are relatively straight forward with good commenting and their documentation is acceptable imho.

Additionally investigating their defaults in about:config reflect similar defaults in the Librewolf/ Mullvad/Arkenfox defaults that were present in the Mull browser.

Overall Ironfox is about as good a Firefox fork for Android as you’re going to find.

I use Ironfox and have never found cause for complaint. I’m on GrapheneOS which shipped with vanadium but I wanted the adblock and consent-o-matic addins so switched.

Fennec is very good.

I used fennec fork of Firefox but I found it slow of loading web pages comparing to usual Firefox on android, they messed something or in configs or in source code that it really making slower.

IronFox, and Fennec as a backup.

I found Fennec on Drodify so I will try that. Thanks.

Fennec is not hardened, it removes telemetry. Ironfox is a fork of the discontinued Mull which is hardened.

You can of course harden Fennec through about:config . Using Ironfox is the better option if that’s your goal though. It also has nice features like a toggle to disable SafeBrowsing.

Yeah, I forgot to say I am also trying IronFox. I just need to figure out how to download it when I have the time along with Fennec.

Currently, you can install IronFox from Accrescent, from your preferred F-Droid client via our F-Droid repository, with Obtainium, or directly from our GitLab releases.
