What the fuck is up with that guy’s face?

bmacs@lemmy.world on 22 Jun 15:36 next collapse

Louis is warning you about government spying and your rude ass makes it about his looks… What’s wrong with you?

altkey@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 22 Jun 17:02 next collapse

What’s wrong? To me he looks a bit tired reporting on one another Torment Nexus we built.

surewhynotlem@lemmy.world on 22 Jun 17:13 next collapse

Oh, your screen just turned off. Just tap it again and the scary man will disappear.

partofthevoice@lemmy.zip on 22 Jun 18:59 next collapse

He’s busy getting fucked in the arse 24/7 so that you don’t have to, then goes and helps defend your right to own the shit you bought. That’s the face of a man of the people.

TrickDacy@lemmy.world on 22 Jun 19:42 next collapse

What the fuck is up with your brain?

zqps@sh.itjust.works on 23 Jun 22:20 collapse

He has chronic sleep issues, and still gets a ton of shit done. What’s your excuse?

unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de on 22 Jun 15:46 next collapse

Flock is still way worse than this, because you can just leave your phone at home but you cant leave your face.

The sort of data Leonardo says SignalTrace can sweep up includes the RFID tags in key cards and pet microchips; devices with Bluetooth such as wireless headphones, fitness trackers, and mobile phones; components of a car like tire pressure sensors and infotainment systems; and Wi-Fi sources such as vehicle hotspots and laptops, according to the product sheet.

For those saying, “just leave your phone at home.”

partofthevoice@lemmy.zip on 22 Jun 20:13 next collapse

Leave your phone, dog, car, wallet, smart watch, hearing aids, headphones, and any other potentially “smart” / Bluetooth devices at home. If it can respond to a signal, like an RFID card in your wallet, then it should stay home.

ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip on 23 Jun 05:00 next collapse

You should have an RFID blocking wallet regardless of this tech existing.

Squizzy@lemmy.world on 23 Jun 14:59 collapse

Been hearing this for fifteen years now, it is just so niche a threat that people shouldnt have those horrible wallets in reality.

The stalker info is coming from all the devices and the rfid blocking wallet is blocking reading of cards.

ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip on 23 Jun 15:10 collapse

What makes them horrible? I like my no-profile wallet. I don’t want cards being readable through them. That’s the point

Squizzy@lemmy.world on 23 Jun 22:04 collapse

More power to you, I think they are fairly silly given the risk. Its like wearing velcro shoes to stop people who intentionally step on your laces…

I am sure there are nice ones, I’d use one if I found a nice one but only because I like it not because of its features.

teyrnon@sh.itjust.works on 23 Jun 16:02 next collapse

Or get faraday pouches for them. Or you can wrap in aluminum foil in a pinch. Or an all metal pot, through the stuff in there.

s38b35M5@lemmy.world on 23 Jun 16:27 next collapse

In fact, forget the hookers and blackjack…

s38b35M5@lemmy.world on 23 Jun 16:30 next collapse

Exactly! Our freedom is still good!

Alfredolin@sopuli.xyz on 24 Jun 07:02 collapse

“Leave your tyre pressure sensors at home!”

ButteredBread@sh.itjust.works on 23 Jun 02:40 next collapse

btw why cant you disconnect your phone or whatever from bluetooth or wifi or just turn it off

ButteredBread@sh.itjust.works on 23 Jun 02:41 next collapse

i mean sure idk how to do that on cars but it depends on what car

ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip on 23 Jun 05:01 next collapse

Then you can’t use it anyway, and the fascists have won.

ButteredBread@sh.itjust.works on 23 Jun 05:20 collapse

you can do a lot of things with an offline phone or wired headphones/airpods and all that.

Auli@lemmy.ca on 24 Jun 13:21 collapse

Yes and no though. What most people would consider off isn’t. At least on iPhone it just disconnects but still transmits with quick settings disabled. Like Apple is part of the system even though people say they are not.

Auli@lemmy.ca on 24 Jun 13:17 collapse

I dont know if I believe the RFID tags. How are they getting them to transmit? Sure everything else on their list is sending a signal but RFID needs power.

apftwb@lemmy.world on 23 Jun 05:29 collapse

The only way to get the general public to care about this stuff is to make a FOSS alternative for stalkers.

helix@feddit.org on 23 Jun 07:00 collapse

As a stalker, I like how you think 🥵🙃
