Every time I see someone post about Aurora, I check and it always loads for me.

Front ends get blocked, it’s just the way it is.

I dunno, works for me sometimes and then stops working. I’m not logged in with any account

Could be the anonymous account is being blocked. Log out and log back in.

Try force stopping Aurora and then try again. It’s worked for me every time I’ve had an issue.

I’ve gotten a few updates to go through after repeatedly clearing the cache and trying new accounts, but yeah it’s pretty fucked lately. Google’s probably trying to crack down on the burner accounts it uses.

It’s trying to close their system off further because there’s a lot more tracking that can be enabled if you use their official app

ItsNotImportant24@lemmy.ml on 03 Sep 18:15 collapse

If you have GrapheneOS though, the playstore is sandboxed and gets no priveleges or tracking. Just an fyi to anyone.

Rat_in_a_hat@lemmy.ca on 04 Sep 01:38 collapse

That’s true! But I believe that you still need an account and, of course, the play store collects some data about the device its installed on/installing apps on. Depends on peoples threat/privacy model if they want that or not.

Either way, a sad day for open source that aurora is being blocked.

I’ve been seeing that error sometimes lately. However, after seeing this post I opened Aurora and successfully updated an app. Anon account and VPN, fwiw.

Seems to be working fine now

Working fine now for me too.
