Sure if that is a option. I am a fan of Linux too but unfortunately not everyone is ready for it. Specially corporate systems are not due to AD. In those cases where you need windows. Store the key locally.

This is not really a weakness in the bitlocker encryption but in the TPM used to store the secrets if you set it up like that.

The problem isn’t that they handed it over. The feds had a warrant, they had no choice. The problem is that they had anything to hand over.
