If you’re scared about Microsoft tracking your UX engagement on a website, the best way to make sure your sex life stays private is to file it in federal court.

jet@hackertalks.com on 28 Jun 2024 13:12 collapse

I’m pretty sure this person was just looking for a reason to sue, and then tried to construct the most salacious situation to sue about.

I’m not against them suing, I think web tracking is evil, so more power to them, but I definitely feel like a lawyer helped architect the actual complaint

Eggyhead@kbin.run on 28 Jun 2024 16:11 collapse

Well if she was just looking for any reason to sue, well congrats to her then. She stumbled across a really good one.

What in the world is that gold thing on the left?

dojan@lemmy.world on 28 Jun 2024 11:33 next collapse

Dangerous. Don’t insert things without a flared base or some other appendage for easy removal. That thing looks less like a sex toy and more like a paperweight.

Warl0k3@lemmy.world on 28 Jun 2024 11:54 collapse

It’s not an insertable toy, it’s just a novelty vibrator.

To be clear: they’re tracking the mouse on the website, not the real time movements of a dildo going in and out of an orifice

holycrap@lemm.ee on 28 Jun 2024 16:43 next collapse

My disappointment is is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

blandfordforever@lemm.ee on 28 Jun 2024 20:21 collapse

Might your day be improved by … A dildo going in and out of an orifice?

Zehzin@lemmy.world on 29 Jun 2024 04:38 collapse

Only if a log of the ins and outs goes directly to Bill Gates’s desk.

ObstreperousCanadian@lemmy.ca on 28 Jun 2024 16:44 next collapse

Aww 😞

lone_faerie@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 28 Jun 2024 21:23 next collapse

Only because they haven’t figured out a way to do that yet

Warp10Lizard@startrek.website on 29 Jun 2024 03:29 next collapse

The day a dildo comes with WiFi and an integrated accelerometer. The vibration function is $7.99/month. For an extra $3.99/month, it extends three inches. I’m not sure why I joke about that, I’m sure it’s already a thing.

Open source teledildonics are a thing.

InevitableWaffles@midwest.social on 29 Jun 2024 23:06 collapse

Teledildonics is my new favorite word.

Fortunately we have open source sex toys

AgentGrimstone@lemmy.world on 29 Jun 2024 04:19 collapse

I knew sites used heat maps to see what people click on but I was surprised when our developers showed us actual video of users moving their mouse. I didn’t know that was even a thing.

delirious_owl@discuss.online on 29 Jun 2024 13:30 collapse

I don’t think this is inherently a problem, if the data is anonymized.

scarilog@lemmy.world on 30 Jun 2024 09:37 collapse

Yep, microsoft clarity is pretty useful, if you don’t wanna be tracked, just use an adblocker.

Auzy@beehaw.org on 29 Jun 2024 00:06 next collapse

This doesn’t have much to do with Microsoft. They simply used their software. Microsoft wasn’t responsible at all for this. It was the websites

It seems the age of click bait has arrived at lemmy

ssm@lemmy.sdf.org on 29 Jun 2024 00:47 collapse

Just block lemmy.world and you’ll lose 90% of the r*ddit repost clickbait and USpol propaganda spam immediately. World needs to be given credit for being the containment instance so the rest of lemmy can be good.

Auzy@beehaw.org on 29 Jun 2024 01:08 next collapse

I’m on beehaw. I think maybe that’s already blocked 😂

It’s nothing to do with Microsoft really… clickbait

Etterra@lemmy.world on 29 Jun 2024 15:37 next collapse

Tangential, but what the hell is that big, metallic diamond looking one? Like, does it vibrate? I’d there a hole in the top? Is it… ugh… a butt plug?

atrielienz@lemmy.world on 29 Jun 2024 20:33 collapse

It’s a novelty lay on toy. Not for insertion.

bhamlin@lemmy.world on 29 Jun 2024 21:05 collapse

Sounds like a challenge to me

atrielienz@lemmy.world on 29 Jun 2024 21:34 collapse

Whatever floats your boat. But EMS recommends against inserting things that don’t have a flared base. Do with that information whatever you want.

bhamlin@lemmy.world on 29 Jun 2024 21:52 collapse

I see a flare. It’s on the base. 😃
