I see it coming, in a very short time every Android and iOS phone will come with AI built-in and so intertwined in the phone that it’ll be impossible to remove. I would like to investigate alternatives. I do have a few requirements–

Within those confines, what are the most promising options?

The only serious option really

But will it still work after Google stops allowing APK’s?

Yes as I understood checker will be integrated as part of Google services so it will be in container so in theory we can even erase this feature from our grafenos sandbox

A bigger issue than the APK changes is that Google no longer releases the source for Pixels after the 9.

Graphene claims they are partnering with another OEM, but we’ll see how it goes

Until Google drops support on Pixel 9, and given they are working with another manufacturer, yes.

Any concrete news about their new phone yet?

Only androidauthority.com/graphene-os-major-android-oe… afaik, which I took from the other guy that was answering the comment I replied to.

I wonder who the OEM will be. If I had to guess maybe it’s OnePlus

Get a phone from the pixel 9 series and install GrapheneOS on it problem solved
