Be careful: The Fixupxer App on F-droid edit your URL to make it redirect to adware/malware. (github.com)

I wanted to fix a Facebook link, upon opening it in the browser, my adblocker warned me of malware in the url.

The root URL for the fixed/ new URL was : facebookez(.)com

The filter list that blocked this URL was Easylist.

This for me is going to change my caution radically for the new apps that I install from the F-droid app store.

They are pretty open about using that domain here. It redirects to another domain which is actually the one on the blocklist, and I wonder if there was an issue with the domain, looking at archive.org it seems it used to redirect to embedez.com but now it’s to this ad site so maybe they lost the domain or got hacked? It doesn’t seem intentional anyway.

Oh but also in my link above, apparently it’s 100% vibe coded so maybe don’t use it anyway.
