Are there any sites dedicated exclusively to unghosted/undimmed anime?

I just want somewhere that won’t even show me new episodes until an unghosted version is released. I primarily watch anime for the animation, so blurred and darkened frames really ruin it for me.

Please someone respond to this!

What is ghosted anime? Never heard of that before.

Afaik there are laws in Japan that during certain scenes they have to dim certain frames to comply with laws, specifically flashes in fight scenes and certain types of violence.

Just look at the image I included in the original post. It’s a comparison between several shots in Jujutsu Kaisen where the shot is ghosted+dimmed and one has not.

In order to satisfy laws for preventing seizures for a minority of children in Japan, studios are required to release their animations with these filters applied to certain scenes. However, the Blu-ray releases are not required to be released with these restrictions, so the animations released in that format are unhindered and can be viewed as they were intended to be viewed.

Today I learned something.

Thanks, saw the differences but didn’t know it was a thing or why they’d do that.

You would need to buy blue rays then and hope that it would be unghosted version.

I’m absolutely willing to buy Blu-rays, but what I’m worried about is there being no English dub/subs. For JJK in particular it seems that, at the moment, Blu-rays only exist for native Japanese speakers…

But it seems like it shouldn’t be that hard of a task for someone to rip the subs/dubs off of a ghosted English copy and paste it onto the unghosted Japanese copy… But I can’t find any. Thus, my quest for a service that doesn’t even provide a ghosted copy continues.

Then you must sail the high seas and stitch yourself audio + video + subtitles yourself. Ask in other communities that has more lenient rules about piracy resources.

Pretty sure there are English JJK blurays. At least in the UK region. Can’t imagine there not being one for the NA region.

Edit: CR store has S1 and the movie store.crunchyroll.com/…/jujutsu-kaisen/?prefn1=ca…

S2 will most likely come out too, but not yet

Check the releases on nyaa, the better encoders will undim the TV versions sometimes, not sure if they can do much about ghosting without the BDs. As far as JJK Kaizouku just finished their release which is probably your best shot.
